Location
Wyndham Sundancer Resort Lombok is located in Sekotong Barat, Lombok, Indonesia. It is approximately 43 kilometres south west of Lombok’s capital, Mataram; 25 kilometres south west of the Lombok International Airport; and 16 kilometres south west of Lombok Harbour (direct ferry access to Bali). The distance between Bali and Lombok is only 35 kilometres and the Islands are separated by the Lombok Strait. Lombok is easily accessed by both sea and air.
Wyndham Sundancer Resort Lombok is within close proximity to one of the world's most famous surfing breaks, Desert Point or 'Bangko Bangko', as it is known to locals. Voted 'The Best Wave in the World' by Australia's Track Magazine (the Surfer's Bible), Desert Point can produce long hollow waves that almost always end in a barrel.
Located to the north west of the site, and providing spectacular views, are a number of small islands and atolls, including Gili Genting, Gili Lontar, Gili Ringgit, Gili Asahan & Gili Gede. These provide outstanding diving and snorkelling destinations.
Lombok is home to Mount Rinjani. This active volcano rises to 3,726 metres, making it the second highest volcano in Indonesia and providing a popular trekking destination.
